Name: Analytical Research Biologist

Job Title: Analytical Research Biologist
Independently perform analytical assays for the evaluation of clinical or process development samples containing antigens/pathogens and report assay results in support of biologicals product development. Provide quality support through data acquisition, reporting, and communication. Preference will be given to a candidate experienced in automation (Biomek, Tecan, etc.).
Independently execute in vitro (and occasionally in vivo) analytical assays to evaluate clinical trial animal samples. Accountable for performing all techniques and assays so test sessions yield valid results and repeated work is minimized. Train other personnel in new analytical technologies. Able to convert manual assays to automated assays using on-site robotics.
Accurately record all data from research techniques and tests on data capture forms, research notebooks, and raw data notebooks as appropriate. Perform initial data analysis so that accurate and precise results are obtained and reported. Generate documentation (ex. method protocols, reports, SOPs) in support of techniques or modification of techniques.
Contribute to the design, development, and validation of assays for clinical studies and product development.
Able to seek out, identify, and learn new clinical analytical technologies. Be able to perform, analyze and interpret results. Train other personnel in new analytical technologies.
Demonstrates leadership by maintaining a constructive and positive attitude while working on projects within the Bioanalytical Group.
Follow Research & Development policies and procedures to maintain high quality standards within the established Quality System, and to contribute to continuous improvement by applying best practices (Operational Excellence).

Able to competently perform multiple types of assays (biochemical, molecular, cellular and immunological in nature). Specifically, extensive experience in serum neutralization assays, viral titration assays, ELISA, Western blotting, qPCR and HPLC/FPLC are sought.
Strict adherence to defined assay method protocols.
Extremely organized with attention to detail.
Can learn new types of assays and technology easily.
Able to use automation such as a Biomek.
Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
Proactive and resourceful.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Exceptional interpersonal skills; High level of comfort/ease interacting with all levels of the organization.
