What is CPT?
Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is a temporary work permit for F-1 international students who desire to get practical experience in their primary fields of study. CPT can be used for either a paid or unpaid job. Internships, service practicums, cooperative education, and service learning activities may all qualify for CPT.
Although having practical experience is an important addition to a student's education, F-1 status is primarily intended for full-time study. As a result, F-1 students should concentrate on their academic success and make sure that their CPT employment activities do not conflict with their primary reason for being in the United States.
In addition to the CPT course, you must register for at least one course required to finish your degree program if you are in your last semester. You may not enroll in solely a CPT course during your final semester unless your degree program requires you to complete an internship in order to graduate. This is also true for students who graduate during the summer months, when attendance is not necessary.
What is Day 1 CPT?
"Day 1 CPT" as the name implies where International student can participate in CPT (Curricular Practical Training) program from Day 1 /Start of the program. This helps students to pursure education along with working full time or part time.

You must have been in F-1 status within 30 days of the semester start date to count your first semester.
A student must be enrolled full-time in F-1 status for one academic year in order to be eligible for CPT. - To apply for CPT, a student must have a job offer; also, to accept CPT, the student must have completed one academic year or be enrolled in a language program prior to the end of their studies.
- The student must obtain CPT from their designated school official (DSO) and adhere to the school official's procedures. However, if the curriculum demands practical experience, a graduate student may have CPT authorized by their school official during the first semester of their academic program.
